So my sweet daughter Julia has her third grade play next week. We are so excited for her and all the third graders. The play is called The Unity Tree and it is about the fighting that goes on between the cats and dogs and how in the end the come together. I worked on her costume this week and it's looking pretty cute. Ignore the mess, that's our playroom and it always has something out or on the floor.

Natalie's Chair

So here is Natalie's chair. This is the chair in it's original state. The chair has been primed and painted an amazing aqua color. I will reupholster in white and add a cute little slippy to it. Hopes she loves it as much as I do! Check back later for the finished product.

Julia's Chair

So I have been slowly redoing each of the kid's rooms. Sadly, I started Julia's room over a year ago and it is still not complete. I suppose it's a lot like my life - a work in progress. I have made a bed skirt, pillow and a goblet pleat balloon shade. I have also painted a name painting for her wall and with my husbands help (OK he did most of it) repainted her armoire and night stand. So one of the projects I am currently working on is a chair for her room. I found an adorable chair at a thrift store for $12.00. I have never seen a more perfect deal. The chair itself isn't perfect but it has a cute shape and seems to be sturdy enough. My plans are to paint, reupholster, and then slipcover this little beauty. It is mostly wood with a cane back. Tomorrow if I can figure out how I will post pictures of the before and what I have accomplished so far. Wish me luck, I'll need it!

Just Starting Out

Well, I am dipping my toes into this wonderful world of blogging. I am not sure how much I will have to offer but I am excited to document my projects. I will also share the life that I have with my wonderfully flawed family. My husband John and I have four fun and crazy children: Jack, Julia, Josh and James. Yes, we are one of "those" families who all have names that start with the same initial. Let's see were this roller coaster of life leads us.
